Honda Names Wade Newton to Lead North American Corporate Communications

American #Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) has appointed #wadenewton as the assistant vice president of #corporate Communications for its North American operations. Newton will serve as a chief spokesperson and lead the company’s #corporate communications, which supports internal and external communications, including #corporate news media relations and executive communications, among other responsibilities.

“Wade is a highly skilled leader with a deep understanding of the #auto industry, including a wealth of experience in communicating complex industry issues, and I’m thrilled to have him at the helm of our #corporate communications team,” said Jennifer Thomas, vice president of #corporate Affairs for American #Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Wade’s collaborative and forward-thinking approach will serve us well as we look to articulate Honda’s industry leadership and value to America.”

As assistant vice president of North American #corporate Communications, Newton leads a national team of communicators with responsibility for supporting #corporate communications for Honda’s substantial U.S. manufacturing and research and development presence, as well as its #corporate social responsibility, diversity, advanced safety, and environmental efforts.

Prior to joining #Honda, Newton served as the head of Communications at the Alliance for #automotive Innovation (‘Auto Innovators’), a D.C.-based trade association that advocates on behalf of automakers, suppliers and related companies. Newton was an integral member of the team in the development and launch of #auto Innovators and led the communications department from its inception in May 2020.

Newton previously served as senior director of communications at one of the #auto Innovators’ predecessor organizations, the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, where he spent more than a decade focused on strategic communications and media relationship building to advance the organization’s interests.

Newton holds a degree in journalism from Ohio University.
