September is Calling | Alpha District presents the QT8 district tour and the latest Call to Action dedicated to companies, designers and creatives from around the world, on the occasion of the next Fuorisalone.

Alpha District, the youngest and largest #fuorisalone district, presents the new initiatives that will animate the district during the Milan #design Week in September.

Two new Call to Action, dedicated to companies, designers and #creative people from all over the world, are added to the Cattedrali project, presented last April and featured in the Piazza Gino Valle.

In addition, #alphadistrict presents an unprecedented tour of the QT8 area, organized in #collaboration with the Monte Stella #milano Landscape Observatory.

Alpha District is a territorial #marketing project born in 2020 in the former Alfa Romeo area in the Portello district, under the patronage of the City of Milan, Milan #design Week, Automobile Club Milan and the Monte Stella #milano Landscape Observatory.

Alpha District: Tour QT8
On the occasion of the #fuorisalone in September, a new guided tour will be inaugurated, developed by #alphadistrict together with the Landscape Observatory Monte Stella #milano.

The project, with a view to territorial #marketing, takes visitors to discover a district rich in history and architecture: QT8. QT8 is the district designed by Piero Bottoni and conceived for the eighth edition of the Milan Triennale in 1947.

Born as an 'experimental district', thanks to the particular inspiration of the project and the special circumstances that made its realisation possible, the district is still an excellent example of urban liveability.

Leading the tour will be firsthand architects, planners, landscape architects, artists and other prominent figures involved in the birth and story of the QT8 district. The first tour dates will be bookable on www.alphadistrict.it from July 2021.

Call to Action: Cycle Line
For the 'post lockdown', Milan is working on a plan to encourage the use of bicycles, regular or pedal-assisted, but also electric scooters.

The municipality is planning to build 35 kilometres of new cycle lanes by the end of the year - in addition to the current 220 km - and new parking spaces for bicycles and motorbikes.

As part of the #alphadistrict initiatives, Cycle Line will be an #event dedicated to the world of cycling. A series of open-air installations, featuring green means of transport and mobility such as bicycles, e-bikes and scooters, as well as - more generally - personalities, companies, designers and artists active in the field of sustainability. An opportunity to witness the emergence of new needs and behaviours, such as increased cycling connections.

Call to Action: Le Strade dell’Arte
Alpha District's latest Call to Action is dedicated to the art world. "Le Strade dell'Arte" will be realized as an open-air exhibition, inside the Alfa Romeo Industry Park. Open to creatives and young artists, curated by Looking for Art, "Le Strade dell'Arte" will showcase a selection of works and artists along the green paths of the park designed by Charles Jencks and Andreas Kipar. The project provides for the construction of a series of "exhibition stations" along the pedestrian routes, on the meadows and the heights of the area.
