Ethimo is Official Partner for the Foro Italico sports complex in Rome as the new season of international events and competitions gets underway, starting with the most important Italian tennis tournament.
In this splendid location, Ethimo ‘steps up to the line’ with Ace, the new collection designed by Patrick Norguet.

The name is inspired by that particular serve in tennis whose speed and direction make it impossible for the ad-versary to return the ball.

With Ace, Ethimo and Patrick Norguet set out on a new adventure, shifting attention from the creation of lounge and dining collections to the #design of accessories for outdoor sports, taking their places on court ready to actively participate in the #competition.

‘’Our aim, with this ambitious project, was to rethink the all too often underrated #design and comfort that usually characterise the seating and amenities on the court, by producing a quality collection made up of highly functional solutions to ‘accompany’ the players during their matches, ensuring them greater wellbe-ing’. In the words of Patrick Norguet. ‘‘Ace stems from a real need to build a new better sense of comfort for players during international events. With #ethimo we have therefore dreamt up a ‘system’ with clean-cut ele-gant #design to satisfy the most diverse of needs.’’

Ace is a ’good-looking’ contemporary makeover of the typical elements positioned around tennis courts, providing seating for players and umpires during matches. This collection comprises an umpire chair, low tables with tops in Black corck—a 100% natural eco material—and a players’ bench that can be configured to suit dif-ferent needs thanks to optional accessories such as built-in tables, shoe rack and drinks holders.

The use of eco-friendly, resistant, durable materials for outdoor use make Ace a sports collection designed to adapt and respect its surroundings.
The main materials that lend form to the different structures are FSC-certified natural teak and aluminium, the latter available in three colour options: Black Red, Moss Green and Sepia Black.

The comfortable shape of the benches was made possible by a sophisticated and unusual production process that gives the teak a special curve. The expression of perfect synthesis between craftsmanship and industry, this ‘manufacture’ lends the bench unexpected volumes and creates a pleasing effect of continuity. Different config-urations and customisation are possible thanks to the high modularity of the benches.
