The exhibition "Meret Oppenheim. Reflection of an Era" has been cancelled
- Museo Picasso Málaga regrets to announce the cancellation of the exhibition Meret Oppenheim. Reflection of an Era, which was to have opened this autumn.
The exceptional measures that have obliged the museum to remain closed for several months, along with the standstill throughout the national and international museum network, has led to a significant drop in visitor numbers and, hence, in the museum's revenue. The governing body of Museo Picasso Málaga has therefore taken the decision to cancel the exhibition Meret Oppenheim. Reflection of an Era, which was to have been held in the MPM exhibition rooms from 20th October 2020 to 7th February 2021.
The Museo Picasso Málaga team deeply regrets being unable to complete this exhibition project, which followed on from previous exhibitions devoted to female artists such as Hilma af Klimt and Louise Bourgeois, especially when, as well as providing an overview of this artist's exceptional career, it would have taken place ahead of two major retrospectives that are to be held in Europe and the United States, in Kunstmuseum Bern (Berne, Switzerland) and MoMA (New York, U.S.A.).
