Dr. Oliver Blume congratulates Angelique Kerber

Angelique Kerber has missed out on fulfilling her dream of winning Wimble- don. Despite putting on an excellent performance, the #porsche Brand Ambassador was beaten in a top class final at the world’s most important tournament 7-5, 6-3 by #serenawilliams. Earlier in the year she beat the world No. 1 in the final of the Austral- ian Open to win her first Grand Slam of her career.

“Compliments #angeliquekerber. She has played a fantastic tournament,” said Dr. Ol- iver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of #porsche AG. “After her triumph at the Australian Open, to now have reached the #wimbledon final is an outstanding achieve- ment. We are proud of our Brand Ambassador. Her performance is a spur for not only the young hopefuls we support together with the German #tennis Association in the #porsche Talent Team Germany. #angeliquekerber is a role model for young #people far beyond the sporting world.”

For #serenawilliams, it was her seventh ladies singles win in #wimbledon. Having now amassed 22 Grand Slam titles, she has equalised Steff Graf’s record.
